I completed The ABC Murders by Agatha Christie on Audible.
The version I listened to was a dramatised recording, complete with background music and sound effects.
The sound effects made the listening experience very impactful. However, if you lose focus even for a few seconds, you risk missing an important part of the story.
You also have to remember which voice belongs to which character. Otherwise, it becomes difficult to follow the plot. When a new character enters the story, there isn't always a proper introduction. You are left wondering whether you're hearing an existing character or someone new.
Despite these drawbacks, I thoroughly enjoyed the 4.5 hours of storytelling, especially the sound effects that brought the scenes to life.
My Ratings:
Story: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Narration: 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐
Sound Effects: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
